HELP GIVEN Just to let you all know that there is a great facility for Renfrewshire residents and groups who need legal advice! This is often free or at a reduced charge as the centre is funded from various sources including from the Scottish Government's Fairer Scotland Fund. Visit the web site or call them on 0141 561 7266 HELP NEEDED Dr. John Hall Hello, I’m researching the possible connection between the above Halls {see your article, “Dargavel”} and the Dr. John Hall (1653-1719) family of Taunton, Somerset. Your article refers to De Aula and the Hall-Maxwells, “the present proprietor being a direct descendant of Robert Hall.” Is there a family tree of the Halls of Fulbar, or other family info that might document emigration to England early-mid-17th century? Are there “direct descendants” still living of this line? Quite secondarily, is there a connection between the H’s of F. and those of Dunglass (cf. John Hall, Bart., d. 1689)? Well, any help you can give me will be appreciated. CONTACT ME Margaret (Peggy) Laird Can I ask people if they remember my mother in law, Margaret (Peggy) Laird. I am trying to find more information about her early life. I know a little about her; she was born in Bishopton in June 1922 and lived at 'Old Castle'. I believe she had a sister called Barbara. Her father was John Laird and her mother was Annie Williamson. Her sister had 2 daughters, Penelope and Cecilia or Celia but this is all we know of her. I believe she had a daughter in 1944 called Marcia, but believe that the father of Marcia died in the 2nd world war. Anyone remember her or her family, I would be most grateful. NAME THAT ROAD...
