What a day! A little shower in the middle to freshen the grass and smiles that eclipsed the sun!

Everything went without a hitch, candy floss and punch balloons were abundant. Charities and good causes were helped and you were entertained throughout the day.

Smiling faces were everywhere and a community got a good measure of itself.

Well done to all those behind Bishopton Week!

I was all over the event taking photos and a selection of the very best of these will be up on www.bishoptonday.com web site shortly!

We compress the photos for the web site so if you want a copy of the uncompressed photo (better if you use online photo printing services like the Asda photo services or Tesco photo services for your online printing.

Well done for getting along and supporting our community, it's good to live here!

Wooden Huts Vs. Stone Huts

Created as a temporary measure in the 60's and 40 years later nature did what the Council didn't. Do you remember the old wooden school huts?

Can you remember what happened to them? Let us remind you of that old Bishopton institution, the Bishopton Primary School wooden huts!

OLD COTTAGE HELP

Glasgow Museums are needing our help with the location of a, now gone, cottage! Here's the info:

Stone head, Scotland, Renfrewshire, Bishopton (place associated). Stone carved with the head of a cleric, from the old cottage at Bishopton, Renfrewshire, now demolished. Can you assist by identifying ' The Old Cottage' at Bishopton? Obviously gone by 1928. I don't even have picture to work on. Contact the Web Master by clicking here

A man, whose level of drunkenness was bordering on the absurd, stood up to leave a bar and fell flat on his face.

"Maybe all I need is some fresh air," thought the man as he crawled outside.

He tried to stand up again, but fell face first into the mud.

"Screw it," he thought. "I'll just crawl home."

The next morning, his wife found him on the doorstep asleep.

"You went out drinking last night, didn't you?" she said.

"Uh, yes," he said sheepishly. "How did you know?"

"You left your wheelchair at the bar again."
